3B4 comes to Phelps Creek from Wehrmann Angus in New Market, VA. He ranks in the top 1% of the breed in $Beef, WW, Milk, and YW Epds. He comes from GAR Precision 2536 who has %IMF and RE numbers that are, according to Wehrmann, "a record certainly unchallenged in the beef industry." 3B4's flush brother sold for $19,000 at lot 2 in the 2004 Performance Brand Production Sale in New Market, VA. This bull means business, and we are expecting great things from him for years to come.

5652 comes to Phelps Creek from Ashland, Kansas and Gardiner Angus Ranch. His $Beef of +46.30 and Adjusted RibEye of 16.5 rank in the top 1% of the breed. His sire was also the sire of GAR Integrity who sold for $255,000 at the 2004 Gardiner Production sale and is currently leased to Select Sires. We have already put 5652 to work with one of our cow groups. Many of these bred cows are selling in our 2004 sale on August 6th. You will see more of 5652 in the future. He is a strong bull and really works!

6542 is another fine young bull who comes to Phelps Creek from Gardiner Angus Ranch. He is the son of Retail Product, the Precision son that finally surpassed his sire for growth, IMF, and scrotal. His sire, Retail Product is one of Select Sires' strong AI producers. 6542 is in the top 3% of the breed in Retail Product %, and top 5% in Ribeye. He will add muscle and carcass quality.

C653, a Gardiner Angus product also, is another fine looking bull. He brings the fine 6I6 genetics that we have used so successfully in our Select Sires AI program. 6I6 adds great temperment and balanced traits. The dam of C653, GAR New Design 4559, is a highly valued donor at Debusk Angus in Ewing, VA. C653 will add Milk, help with BW, and still deliver a great $Beef at +43.95.

We are using 6212 for clean-up with a heifer group for the first time this breeding season. We are excited about the pedigree this bull brings. Bon View New Design 1407 matched with G A R Precision 4549 has proven to be a very good combination. We just bought this bull at Knoll Crest Farm's bull sale in early December. This is another impressive bull. We like him so much that we are already using him for clean-up with a group of heifers. His BW EPD is low at +.6 and he shows impressive growth with a YW EPD at +95. $B of +47.09 competes with the best in the breed. His dam Pleasanta of Conanga 736 is from a line that has generated thousands of dollars in progeny sales. His sire Bon View New Design 1407 is one of the superstars of the black angus breed.

S73 is our newest addition from Gardiner Angus Ranch. This young bull has some of the most impressive numbers that we have seen. He ranks in the top 1-2% in $Beef, $Feed, YW, %IMF, and $Grid. He is well rounded with top 15% or better rankings in RE, WW, Milk, and %RP. His sire, GAR Yield Grade, is becoming a breed standout in muscle and growth. His progeny also rank very well in calving ease and frame. S73 combines a better than average +1.9 BW with an explosive +102 YW. We fully expect S73 to pass these traits along when we put him into use at Phelps Creek.

4L27 comes to us from the 2005 Wehrmann Angus "Performance Brand Bull Sale". We really like cattle from his sire Bon View New Design 208(now deceased & progeny are highly sought after). These cattle combine low birth weights with tremendous growth and excellent Milk. A 208 son was our top selling young bull in our 2004 sale. 4L27 has a nice combination of a 1% Milk ranking with top 20% or better YW, WW, $Feed, $Beef, and %IMF. We hope this bull will pass on 208's unique combination of traits in our herd for years to come.
